These include transactions using debit cards, credit cards, ACH, Zelle®, checks, wire transfers and Online Banking. If you find suspicious or unknown activity when you review your account, try not to panic. We are here for you and have a system in place to help make you and your accounts whole again.

  1. If the suspected fraudulent transaction(s) are related to your debit card (Point of Sale – POS):
    • During normal business hours you can report the unauthorized transaction(s), close your card, and dispute the transaction(s) by contacting Credit Union ONE
    • After hours, call PSCU (Payment Systems for Credit Unions) to report the fraudulent transaction(s) and close out your card:
    • You can also call the number on the back of your card (1-800-451-4292) to close it out and prevent any further transaction(s). This will provide a menu option to direct you to PSCU.
    • If the error is on a transaction you initiated with a merchant (e.g. you purchased groceries and your receipt says $20 but $25 was debited from your account):
      • Reach out to the merchant first. They also have a process in place to help resolve errors. Credit Union ONE does not need to be contacted in this instance.
      • If the merchant is unable to help, you are welcome to fill out a debit dispute claim with Credit Union ONE. Contact us at 800-451-4292 or visit a branch to file a claim.
  2. For all other types of potential fraud or unauthorized transactions, fill out a fraud claim with Credit Union ONE by calling the Contact Center at 800-451-4292 or by visiting a branch. A team member will be able to assist you with filling out the proper claim based on the fraudulent transaction type(s).
  3. Take these additional steps to help secure your accounts:
    • Change your Online Banking password.
    • Change your Online Banking credentials (username).
    • Activate your Mastercard ID Theft Protection.
    • Review the Credit Union ONE blog posts about various types of scams, how to identify them, and how to protect yourself:
      • Watch for suspicious emails, phone calls and text messages asking for personal information.
      • Don't click any unknown or unexpected links.
      • Verify communication from Credit Union ONE is legitimate by calling us back through our official phone number (1-800-451-4292).

It's important to review your accounts and credit report regularly for suspicious activity and information you don’t recognize.

  1. If you find activity you don’t recognize, contact any of the credit bureaus to dispute the information.

  2. Consider placing a freeze on your credit to block access to your reports and information. A freeze requires you be contacted when credit is requested. Place a freeze by calling the three credit bureaus individually or using their websites. This will not affect your credit score. Learn more about credit freezes here.
